Kindergarten Curriculum

At My First School, our priority is education within play. Young learners thrive in a classroom that incorporates movement and skill development within the subject study. We emphasize English in all classes and Maths or Science are a daily focus too. 

My First School Kindergarten Curriculum

From the 2023/2024 school year, MFS has begun applying the Cambridge curriculum to the school's curriculum.   

Cambridge International is part of the world-renowned University of Cambridge. Over 10,000 schools in 160 countries offer Cambridge programs and qualifications.      

The Cambridge framework provides curricula for the key subjects of English (or English as an Additional Language), Mathematics and Science.     

We have built our year's curriculum around the foundation of this framework. The children will study these materials in an age-appropriate, fun and interactive classroom setting.    

We are proud to start our young learners with a solid foundation.    

My First School Kindergarten Class Skill Focus

By the end of the year, through your organized preschool days, your child will:   

• Know all letter names and sounds 
• Grow their vocabulary relating to school, community and the world 
• Recognize numbers up to 100
• Add and subtract between 1-10
• Know the days of the week, months of the year and weather 
• Engage in early reading skills
• Improve their fine motor skills, focusing on pencil grip 
• Strengthen gross motor skills like balancing, jumping and throwing
• Engage in a multitude of sensory activities to stimulate curiosity and their developing minds 
• Know all colours, 2D and 3D shapes 
• Know the characteristics of the animals and natural habitats around Earth 
• Clean up after themselves 
• Wellness and manners
