Celebrating Tradition and Joy: MFS 2026 Lunar New Year Festival!

The spirit of the Lunar New Year recently filled the halls of My First School Kindergarten as we hosted our much-anticipated Tết Festival. It was a morning dedicated to celebrating Vietnamese heritage, fostering community, and creating unforgettable memories for our students and their families.

A Stage Full of Stars 
The festivities kicked off with vibrant musical performances. Our little learners took to the stage with confidence, performing traditional songs and dances that captured the essence of spring.

Following the music, the Traditional Fashion Show was a true highlight. It was a beautiful sight to see the children proudly parading in their cultural outfits representing their family backgrounds. Each child brought a unique touch of grace and excitement to the runway!

Preserving Culture Through Hands-On Learning 
At MFS, we believe that the best way to learn about culture is to experience it. This year, we integrated several practical activities that allowed the children to "touch" tradition:

Bánh Chưng Wrapping: Under the guidance of our teachers, the children learned about the significance of this iconic sticky rice cake and tried their hand at the delicate process of wrapping them in green leaves.

Artisan Workshops: We were honored to welcome local artisans who captivated the children with the ancient art of Tò He (glutinous rice dough figurines). Additionally, the students watched in awe as simple coconut leaves were transformed into intricate animals and toys right before their eyes.

Games, Laughter, and Community 
No festival is complete without play! The school grounds were alive with energy as children participated in fun games. These activities weren't just about fun; they helped our students develop motor skills and teamwork.

A Heartfelt Thank You
